DPC / Lime-Cement Paint

Product Overview:

• Intended Use: Ideal for historic buildings, surfaces with damaged horizontal waterproofing, and wall painting.

• Moisture Resistance: Very high resistance to changes in humidity on the painted surface.

Preparation:

1. Surface Cleaning: Remove grease, dirt, salts, and microorganisms from surfaces.
2. Surface Integrity: For very porous, poorly bonded, or crumbling surfaces, clean down to a solid base.
3. Organic Coatings: Remove any organic coatings or paints present.
4. Filling Damages: Use SAKRET fillers (SFP or LCC) based on the intended surface for repairs.
5. Cleaning Agents: Calcium-based cleaning agents or water can be used for surface cleaning.
6. Dry Conditions: Ensure the surface is dry and clean before painting.
7. Protection: Carefully cover surrounding glass, ceramics, clinker, and metal surfaces, as lime paint is alkaline.
8. Batch Mixing: Start painting by mixing enough paint to cover the entire area from one corner of the building to the other.

Application:

• Single Plane Coverage: Paint one plane in a single day with one mixed batch.
• Visual Effects: Different surface textures may create the illusion of tonal differences.
• Drying Conditions: If the surface is unevenly dry, spots may appear during the drying process that won't disappear.
• Water Contact: If the painted surface contacts water during drying, spots and runs may form.
• Layering: Apply in two coats, allowing for 8 hours of drying time between layers.
• Consistency: Mix dry paint with water to achieve a consistency similar to fresh cream before application.

Important Notes:

• Humidity: Work should be done in appropriate weather conditions to avoid moisture issues.
• Surface Preparation: Proper preparation is crucial for optimal adhesion and appearance.
• Cleanup: Tools and spills should be cleaned immediately after use to prevent hardening.
